We have training videos, quick-starts and your salesperson will do training and after all that, we’ll still answer the phone! **Can the sensors be calibrated in the field?** Yes. GrayWolf recommends periodic user calibrations for TVOCs (PID sensor). All sensors except Air Speed, Temperature, Formaldehyde, and Differential Pressure may be calibrated in the field using appropriate reference gases, a regulator, and calibration cap. **Can I use my own device?** Yes, with some caveats. Android or iOS devices can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth LE to DirectSense II/XM probes and WolfRadio-XM-equipped particle meters using the free WolfSense Mobile app. Windows PCs and laptops can connect via WolfSense LAP (licensed). Note that differential pressure and barometric pressure sensors are built into GrayWolf's AdvancedSense, Zephyr, and WolfPack meters and are not accessible from third-party devices. **Can probes be left outside?** DirectSense probes and particle counters are not designed for prolonged outdoor use. However, many customers use them to collect ambient outdoor air samples for comparison to indoor readings, which is an important step in IAQ investigations. They can be used outdoors within operational limits for short periods. **Can readings be sent to the cloud or an internal platform?** Yes to both. GrayWolfLive is GrayWolf's cloud platform for Wi-Fi enabled DirectSense probes, WolfPack XMs, and AdvancedSense XMs. Data can be accessed via API from GrayWolf's server. Probes and meters can also post JSON data directly to a customer-provided URL for integration with internal platforms. **How often do sensors need calibration?** Annual factory calibration is recommended at minimum. Field or lab user calibrations can be performed as frequently as needed. Some sensors require frequent zeroing; others are stable for months. A small number of sensors should be replaced annually or biennially, but most GrayWolf smart sensors last for years with periodic re-calibration. Individual smart sensors can be extracted and sent back for replacement, upgrade, or calibration without taking the entire probe out of service. **Does GrayWolf work with MacOS?** Not directly, but meters can export readings to CSV format readable by Apple Numbers or Google Sheets. GrayWolfLive is accessible from any web browser, including on Macs. **Should the IAQ probes stay stored plugged in?** This is not necessary, but it’s perfectly fine to leave the DSII/DSXM Probes in their Charging Cradle for long term use or storage. The DSII/DSXM provides a trickle of current to support biased sensors and maintain the clock. If you know you will be storing it for a long time without power, we recommend charging it up full so it’s ready to go when you need it. More importantly, if storing the probe for a long time, store it in a clean and dry place, especially if a HCHO or VOC sensor is installed and allow enough time for probe warm up and sensor stabilization when you do turn it back on. **Should the AdvancedSense XM be stored plugged in?** This is not necessary. The XM will completely power down and will preserve its battery for long periods during storage. If you know you will be storing it for a long time, we recommend charging it up full so it’s ready to go when you need it as all devices will lose a little bit of charge over time to maintain the clock. ## Customer Base GrayWolf instruments are used by customers across a wide range of industries worldwide, including: **Aerospace & Defense:** Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, General Dynamics, General Electric, Hindustan Aeronautics, Lockheed Martin, NASA, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon, SpaceX, United Technologies Research Center, US FAA **Airports & Airlines:** Air Canada, American Airlines, Australia Pacific Airports, British Airways, Dubai Airport Authority, Egypt Air, LAX, Lufthansa, Qantas, Scandinavian Airlines System **Architecture & Construction:** Architect of the US Capitol, Burns & McDonnell Engineering, Burj Khalifa, Delos Living, Phoenix Constructors, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, US Green Building Council **Research & Education:** Harvard Medical, MIT, Yale, NIST **Government & Regulatory:** US Army, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, US Navy, US EPA, US OSHA, US State Department, US Treasury, FAA, FDA, NIH, Dubai Municipality **Healthcare & Pharma:** GlaxoSmithKline, Maine Health, Pfizer **Technology & Industry:** AT&T, BASF, Boeing, Camfil, Google, Intel, Seagate, Siemens, Verizon, Wells Fargo **International Organizations:** United Nations, Bureau Veritas --- ## Contact - **US Phone:** 1-203-402-0477 | Toll Free: 1-800-218-7997 - **EU Phone:** +353 61 358044 - **US Email:** SalesTeam@GrayWolfSensing.com - **EU Email:** Sales-Europe@GrayWolfSensing.com - **General Inquiry Form:** https://graywolfsensing.com/contact_generalinquiry/ - **Distributor Contact Request:** https://graywolfsensing.com/contact_localdistributor/ - **Request Detailed Info / Quotation:** https://graywolfsensing.com/contact_detailed/ - **Calibration / Service Request:** https://graywolfsensing.com/contact_service/ - **Tech / Software Support Request:** https://graywolfsensing.com/contact_techsupport/
